The vastly unexplored deep ocean still holds many secrets, yet we are asking it to work hard on our behalf, by helping us counter climate change and supply us with food, minerals and medicines. Take a deep dive into the rarely seen world of ocean governance and discover how deep-ocean science can inform policies that benefit us all, by finding the balance between so many competing demands on the deep ocean.
No DOSI events today – please see here for other deep-ocean-relevant events.

Title: Safeguarding Deep-Sea Biodiversity and the Climate: Integrating Science and Policy for a Sustainable Future
Join us in the stunning ‘cave’ Auditorium at La Citadelle de Villefranche-sur-Mer for an exciting exploration of how deep-ocean science can inform policy and decision-making to tackle the current climate, biodiversity and ocean governance crises. Connect with experts, researchers, and enthusiasts who share a passion for the deep ocean. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, engage, and make a difference for our planet’s underwater world! Appetisers and refreshments provided.
DOSI, in partnership with Ngauruhoe Film & Luna Films, is delighted to bring you a private screening of a yet-to-be-released film on the deep ocean, featuring some of our experts at the forefront of scientific research and policy-making. Join us at dusk in the magical setting of the open-air cinema by the sea at Villefranche-sur-Mer, to wonder at the awesome beauty of the barely explored deep ocean, and the efforts people make to protect it. You will not be disappointed! Pre-show (from 21:00) light snacks and refreshments provided.
