DOSI Deep-Sea Round-Up

A deep-sea octopus seen brooding eggs on a vertical rock face during Dive 18 of the Seascape Alaska 5 expedition. This is just one of nearly 20 individuals seen during the dive. Most were seen brooding eggs of varying maturity, and some were juveniles walking across the seafloor. Image courtesy of NOAA Ocean Exploration. More deep-sea photos shared through DOSI can be found on our Flickr page. You can share your own amazing images through the Round-Up here.
This Round-Up features our upcoming webinar on the deep ocean and BBNJ, an anniversary issue of the Deep-Sea Research journals, and a new opportunity with the Minderoo-UWA Deep Sea Research Centre. We’ll be taking a break next Thursday, but the Round-Up will return on 30 November. Happy reading!
