After a decade of exceptional service, Dr. Harriet Harden-Davies, member of the DOSI Steering Committee and co-lead of the BBNJ Working Group, has stepped down from her role on the Steering Committee.
Harriet has made an extraordinary contribution to DOSI over the past ten years. Her journey began in 2015, when she co-led the Marine Genetic Resources (MGR) Working Group, later taking on leadership of the BBNJ Working Group and joining the DOSI Steering Committee.
Throughout her time with DOSI, Harriet’s dedication, insight, and strategic vision have been instrumental in advancing our mission and shaping the direction of our collective work. Her thoughtful leadership and innovative ideas have strengthened DOSI’s role in global ocean governance and policy.
We are deeply grateful for all that Harriet has brought to DOSI: her expertise, her energy, and her unwavering commitment to the deep-ocean community.
Although she is stepping down from the Steering Committee, Harriet will continue to contribute through her co-leadership of the BBNJ Working Group and her involvement in the DOSI–Ocean Voices collaboration. We look forward to continuing to benefit from her inspirational leadership and mentorship as we work together to promote a healthy, inclusive, and well-governed deep ocean.
