DSL26 front cover

In this issue, we are delighted to be amongst the first to report on the publication of the first eDNA datasets from Okeanos Explorer expeditions. We also share reports from exciting expeditions to Antarctica, the western Pacific islands, and expeditions still to come. We feature amazing projects encompassing everything from genetics to ecosystem services via etymology, habitat restoration and ocean literacy. We are spoiled with fascinating and thought-provoking new publications and opinion pieces for all audiences, testament to the dedication and diversity of this community.

Whether you’re a long-time supporter or a new subscriber, we hope this edition makes it even easier to explore the wonders of the deep ocean. Thank you for being part of our truly global community and congratulations on all you achieve. We look forward to diving into the next chapter with you!

As ever, grateful thanks to all our contributors and to our excellent editorial team: Drs Abigail Pattenden (University of Limerick, Ireland), Eva Ramirez Llodra (REV Ocean, Norway), Franck Lejzerowicz (University of Oslo, Norway), Bhavani Narayanaswamy (SAMS, UK) and Michelle Taylor (University of Essex, UK).
