Happy equinox! We hope that your autumn or spring is starting well. We have a lot of new developments in deep-sea science to share at the turning of the seasons, from the 2022 Global Deep-Sea Capacity Assessment to a study of how the Amazon River impacts deep-ocean meiofauna.
For those who are observers of the ISA, registration is now open for a workshop on enhancing genetic approaches to advance deep-sea taxonomy. We’re also featuring a new PhD opportunity on metabolic rates of fishes near their range limits, along with two calls for articles in Special Issues of Diversity.
Finally, this week’s Round-Up ends with a look at our Instagram, where Coordinator Laura Anthony is sharing her experience studying deep-sea coral reefs on a research cruise. Enjoy!
