We have exciting news in today’s Deep-Sea Round-Up: Going forward, DOSI will be supported by 10 years of funding from Arcadia -a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin. You can read the press release about the grant here. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with you all!
In the meantime, cutting-edge deep-sea research continues. This week features articles on fine-scale mapping, the origins of life, carbon cycling, and more. There’s also an upcoming webinar on deep-ocean research partnerships to be aware of, along with opportunities with MBARI and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Finally, today’s issue features an Instagram video featuring Paige Maroni, an early-career researcher who was lead lander scientist aboard the most recent expedition of DSSV Pressure Drop. Enjoy!
