DOSI Deep-Sea Round-Up

This sea urchin was spotted during dive 08 of the third Voyage to the Ridge 2022 expedition. Image courtesy of NOAA Ocean Exploration. More deep-sea photos shared through DOSI can be found on our Flickr page. You can share your own amazing images through the round-up here.
The Round-Up is ready! New research this week focuses on the behavior of pink sea urchins, microplastics at a cold seep, and the use of molecular hydrogen in marine microbial communities. In Deep-sea mining, DOSI’s Minerals Working Group has helped put together a paper on developing thresholds for regulators. We also feature shipboard fellowships, positions With the Smithsonian, and a new episode of the Deep-Sea Podcast.
