The ArtSea Matchmaking online exhibition has just launched and features a selection of artworks created by 13 ArtSea teams during their year-long collaborations. The teams were matched last year through an open call for deep-sea scientists and artists to explore new ways of connecting deep-sea science and art. Most of the artworks will also be available for purchase, providing an opportunity to support the participating artists. The exhibition will remain open through October and is a UN Ocean Decade-endorsed activity supported by the Deep-Sea Biology Society.

The final ArtSea event will take place online on 15 September from 19:00-20:30 CEST and will wrap up this year’s project with a summary of the collaborations and their outcomes, as well as a discussion of possibilities for future ArtSea activities. The event is free and open to everyone – a chance to present the artwork and the science behind it, and to celebrate the collaborations and the people involved. Join the event here.
