DSBS seminar on abyssal/hadal seafloor biodiversity

Don’t miss the third seminar in the Deep-Sea Biology Society’s 2026 series, taking place on Tuesday, 15 September at 12:00 PM UTC, on the topic of abyssal/hadal seafloor biodiversity.  Presentations and speakers will include:

• A morphological classification of glass sponges (Porifera: Hexactinellida) for image-based assessments of deep-sea assemblages by Alfredo Marchio (Minderoo – University of Western Australia)
• A deep dive into Antipatharians (black corals): Diversity, taxonomy, and evolution in the deep sea by Erika Gress (Inkfish)
